Why We Built MedCode
Home health agencies are being asked to do more with less, and coding sits at the center of it — a missed diagnosis costs real reimbursement. Meanwhile, the industry is being sold AI that promises to replace the coder entirely. We don't think that works. A patient is not a pattern. Every chart we code also gets a general OASIS review at no additional cost. We flag missing items, call out discrepancies between the notes and the OASIS, and highlight what carries the most weight for value-based purchasing and star ratings. We priced on volume rather than margin, because clinical review shouldn't be a luxury only large agencies can afford.

You Send Us the Episode
You flag the patients. We pull in whatever supports the episode; clinical notes, face-to-face documentation, discharge summaries, post-op notes, and the OASIS. No batch minimums, no scheduling around our calendar. The more complete the picture, the more defensible the code set.

De-Identification Happens Locally
Before anything moves, our system strips all 18 HIPAA Safe Harbor identifiers through multiple layers of de-identification. This runs entirely within our secure, HIPAA-compliant environment. Protected health information is never sent to an AI model. Ever. If it identifies a patient, it doesn't leave.

The AI Reads Every Line
Working only from the de-identified record, our AI reads the chart line by line, surfacing clinical detail relevant to this specific home health episode and identifying every usable ICD-10 code. It doesn't skim and it doesn't summarize; it reads.
